Anatomy

At the end of the Second year B.D.S. course, the learner should be able to demonstrate – A basic understanding of man, society & environment, the variables which maintain them in harmony and the factors influencing socialization & illness behavior. Evidence of a pre-determined level of knowledge of the structure and function of the human body including growth, development,death, and to identify deviations from the normal, commonly found in the community. Understanding of physiological and biochemical concepts and processes of the body and their control mechanisms to explain the reasons for deviatins from the normal. Understanding of structures and functions of oral and para-oral structures including their growths and developments. Understanding of the concepts & principles of basic natural sciences and application to medicine. Ability to identify, conduct and interpretessential laboratory tests in relation to physiological and biochemical functions.
