The University of Dental Medicine , Mandalay was first established in 1999 , November ,29th at University of Medicine , Mandalay. The Botany course at the University of Dental Medicine , Mandalay started in ( 1999 – 2000 ) academicyear with ( 74 ) matriculated students. At that time , it was run by the Head of the Botany Department Daw Mya Mya Aye and staff members. On 11th December 2000 , the University was moved to 62nd street , Myothit , ChanMya Thar Zi Township , Mandalay.Daw Mya Mya Aye was transferred to University of Medicine , Mandalay. On 6th January 2004 , the present Head Daw Aye Aye Maw became Lecturer and Head of the Department. The Department nowhas a head , one assistant lecturer , three demonstrators and one laboratory staff. It is run by the present Head Daw Aye Aye Maw and the staff members . Botany is taught as a subject only to the first year students.
