University of Dental Medicine , Mandalay was first established in 1999 , November , 29th at University of Medicine , Mandalay. The Chemistry course of the University of Dental Medicine , Mandalay started in (1999 – 2000 ) academic year with ( 74 ) matriculated students. At that time, it was run by the Head of the Chemistry Department Daw Si Si and staff members. On 11th December 2000 , the University was moved to 62nd street , Myothit , Chan Mya TharZi Township , Mandalay. She was retired in 2003.Then the Head of the Chemistry Department became Daw Ni Ni. She was also retired in 2009.The present Head Daw MyintMyint Swe became Lecturer and Head of the department. The Department now has one lecturer and head , one lecturer , one assistant lecturer , three demonstrators and one laboratory staff. It is run by the present Head Daw Myint Myint Swe and the staff members . Chemistry is taught as a subject only to the first year students.
